A South Burlington client approached PSGC with the intention of replacing their lawn with a native meadow that could support wildlife through all seasons. Through a collaborative design process, PSGC sourced regionally ecotypic plants from a local Vermont nursery and prepared the site with a sod cutter before installing perennials, forbs, and grasses in the fall. Broadcast seeding this spring will establish the intermingling, naturalistic character of the planting. Flowering perennials near the house create a gradual transition from domestic garden to meadow, connecting the residence to the wooded edge beyond.
